On September 22, 2021 singer-songwriter, dancer, choreographer, and director Teyana Taylor announced to the world, via Instagram, that she was going on her last farewell tour, The Last Rose Petal, to say goodbye to her fans for the very last time. When news got out that this would be her last time hitting the stage, the fans did exactly as they should and brought out all the announced dates. Within minutes fans realized that everything was sold out and went into a frenzy. They headed to social media requesting more shows and Teyana did just that.

Recently, Teyana expressed that she was retiring from the music industry because of the lack of promotion from her record label and feeling unappreciated from music executives who are standing on their high horses making decisions about what they think she should do with her career.

“I gotta do it for my mental health. I have to do it for my emotional health. I have to do it for my kids, so I can stay alive for my kids,” she said. “Until I’m free, until I can get (my label) to release me, yes I want to retire. I don’t want to do this anymore.”

Even though this is a bittersweet moment for all of us, Teyana put her pride aside, laced up her sneakers, and started her 13-city tour on November 7th in San Francisco. The tour wouldn’t be complete if she didn’t come to her hometown, New York City, to get all the love and support from the fans that love her most.

I have personally seen Teyana perform a few times but I wasn’t going to miss the show for ANYTHING because she always comes with the heat and never disappoints. Sis gives us vocals, sex appeal, and wraps it up with a bow like it’s nothing. Her talent is unmatched and the culture needs her more than anything.

I attended her second show in New York City on November 21, at Terminal 5 and my excitement was through the ruff. Teyana opened the show with her record ”No Manners” giving us a beautiful stage design and set up. Her dancers of course came out the gate swinging and left no crumbs. Her musicians set the tone as they showed us what it meant to play live instruments on the stage. Teyana sang and danced her heart out to some of her hits like 1800-One-Night, How You Want It, Bare With Me, Gonna Love Me, Never Would Have Made It, and Rose In Harlem. We all know that Teyana’s body is damm there perfection and “body goals” for a ton of women across the globe so it was no surprise that the show started heating up when her song 3Way started to play. What we didn’t know was that she was going to bring out superstar music artist DreamDoll and talented actress and businesswoman LaLa Anthony for a special surprise striptease. The ladies looked scared as Teyana showed them what she was really working with and gave them a taste of their own sexy medicine.

It wasn’t until Junie, Teyana’s daughter came out and stole the show in two seconds. She is literally her twin and gave us personality and hard-hitting dance moves to her song, Come Back To Me. This was truly a special moment in the show and I was happy to be there to witness their bond in action.

At the end of the show, Teyana got emotional as she thanked her fans for supporting her on her journey. She took the time to thank everyone who helped her put this show together down to the makeup artist and stylist. We don’t get to witness what happens behind the scenes and how everything is put together but it means a lot when the artist recognizes everyone on their team for all their efforts and hard work. We should all know by now that even though Teyana is retiring from her music career she is not leaving the industry. She has already proven that she is successful with her creative eye in production and we all should know that she is nothing to mess with.

Teyana and her crew will be heading to Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Georgia to finish up her last few shows. Make sure you get your tickets because this is something you do not want to miss. Teyana we love you and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you.
