Fall in Love With Your Fave Artists at Taste of Sounds Fest'23

Short N Sweet Ent

Taste of Sounds is the place to discover your new favorite artists. To celebrate our fourth anniversary, we’re hosting our annual Taste of Sounds Fest on August 10th, 2023 at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. The festival will showcase our handpicked Taste of Sounds artists and a special performance by Brooklyn’s own, HD Been Dope.

Welcome to Taste of Sounds Fest ‘23: the annual experience where we celebrate our fourth year of supporting the creative community in New York City! We are the premier music festival for local performers and rising stars, lauding our Taste of Sounds artists for their impact made in the last year. Each of these emerging talents continues to independently navigate the music industry, strengthen their fan base, and serve as incredible partners aligning with our core values: creativity, community, and collaboration. With a wide variety of talent across the sonic spectrum, it’s our pleasure to introduce you to your newest musical obsession.

Here’s a quick look at our line-up for this monumental night

Introducing HD Been Dope - The New York Native whose pen constantly proves why he’s the next big sensation. When it comes to the art of Hip Hop, HDBeenDope is a breath of fresh air. Rising to the occasion of challenges, HD had 72 hours to produce, record and submit an original celebratory anthem, where he landed his record “Top” on EA Sports Madden 21. His thought-provoking lyrics and dynamic production accompanied High-Definition visuals, helped propel other placements including NBA2k, EA’s UFC, XXL Magazine’s 2020 Freshman of the year 10th spot Contender, and more.

Introducing Blackboy Infinity - the Head Director of Camp Outside Not Inside, also known as the lyrical doctor with the remedy. Hailing from the grounds of Canarsie, Brooklyn, he pulls from an eclectic style of engagement and various sounds of hip- hop to ensure you all make that stank face at some point when listening to experiencing any of his performances. He recently released one of the singles "Beanstalk" off of his upcoming EP Project, "No Sorries Allowed". As he prepares for his September release, he continues killing his shows across the tri-state area, truly being outside, not inside!

Introducing Truvi - The Jamaican Songstress who’ll fuel your latest genre-fusion addictions. 20 Something Singer-songwriter, Truvi, captivates audiences with her angelic vocals and honest lyrics. Slipping in and out of her native patois in rhythm, her music transcends genres, blending notes of RnB, Neo-Soul, Afrobeat, and Reggae. Often accompanied by her ukulele or guitar on the stage, and her dog Kola on her off days.

Introducing Madwiz - the mighty lyrical wizard who will always leave the stage with magic. ‘Tough Boy’ MADWIZ is a hip-hop & dancehall artist hailing from Brooklyn, NY. Building lyrics since the day he was born, this don has been able to keep a name for himself in his hometown. Successful projects have included the albums ‘718-MADWIZ’ and ‘God’s Gold Teeth’. With sharp lyrics containing murderous intent and a must see stage show, he’s a must see artist for anybody who has a taste for something different.

Introducing Ladibree - the multi-dimensional recording artist, songwriter, and producer from Staten Island, NY. After releasing her first official mixtape “Ambitions and All-Nighters” in 2017, she received opportunities to open for artists such as Raury, Bryce Vine, and Majid Jordan among others while in college which introduced her to wider audiences. After making a well-received return to music in 2021 with singles that have become fan favorites in her catalog, she received an opportunity to perform on festival stages alongside artists like Doechii and Sleepy Hallow. This gave her tons of momentum for her 2022 campaign, which featured performances at SXSW, an article featured in Billboard, and 3 singles that have accumulated thousands of streams on DSPs to date.

It’s our honor and pleasure to continue our partnership with Distrokid and Move Forward Music, as well as introduce new ties with Now Smoking and Lunch Bag Boys. These brands are consistent champions of artist development, and we’re beyond excited to maintain our collaborative connection and uplift the creative community.

About Taste of Sounds

New York City, known for its underground music scene, has a multitude of artists who often get overlooked due to not having a large social media following or not having enough capital to fund their own creative endeavors. These obstacles make it challenging for creatives to find opportunities that can advance their careers. This is why we created Taste of Sounds.

Taste of Sounds is a NYC-based non-profit organization that provides opportunities for the creative community by producing showcases and concerts for artists to freely express themselves. We give them opportunities to develop their craft and community with no additional costs. We seek to further our mission by creating larger concerts and implementing programs to make sure that local NYC artists are nurtured and have a chance to excel in their careers.
