Before the summer comes to a close, Chicago rapper, Doodie Lo released his recent single, “I Swear To God” on August 19th and proved that his music is nothing to be messed with. “ISTG” is a raw, uncut, and honest record that gives the people what they have been missing. In the video, rapper Lil Durk, the founder of “OTF” Only The Family, makes an appearance to show his love and support for those on his team. During a recent trip to New York City, for a Meet & Greet with his fans, Doodie Lo stated, “It’s a nice record. I love it and we got a compilation coming. I’m also working on my solo project”.

In an exclusive interview, Doodie Lo opens up about his personal journey as an artist in the music industry.

How would you describe your music to others who haven’t heard of you yet?

My voice is different. I don’t like to compare myself to nobody like that. I’m Doodie Lo. My voice is raspy and they love it. My fans love it. My supporters love it.

Where are your supporters mainly from?

Everywhere. My main support system is probably in the Midwest, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Phoenix areas. They love us everywhere. Humbly!

How long have you been doing music?

I’ve loved music my whole entire life but taking it seriously for about 2 years. When I dropped “Me & Doodie Lo” with King Von I started taking it seriously.

Some people believe success happens overnight. Tell us more about your journey.

I was still living in my hometown. Smurk told me to come take my music seriously and move to Atlanta and when I did that it changed my life. It didn’t happen overnight. I had to work. There were times when I didn’t have no studio budget he might leave early and I might do the rest of the 4 to 5 hours that he didn’t do. So it’s all about the grind and how much you want it. Cause if you want it then you gonna do it. You can really do whatever you want. I know a lot of people say that but me seeing where I come from, the small town, if I can do it you can too. If you stay dedicated you can do it.
