Ciara celebrates the release of her new album CICI at Legacy Dumbo Record Store

The summer is officially not over and, with the temperatures dropping, “Legacy Dumbo”, a Brooklyn local Caribbean-owned record shop, knows exactly what to do to take it up a notch. Shop owner Haile Ali and Vinyl Experience Lead Zoe Veranda hosted, yet again, another spectacular, jaw-dropping event. On Friday, August 22^nd, R&B singer and songwriter Ciara celebrated the release of her 8^th studio album, CiCi, by giving her fans a once-in-a-life time vinyl signing and meet-and-greet experience.

The world was introduced to Ciara in 2004 with the release of her debut album “Goodies”. Since then, she hasn’t looked back and has been one of the biggest names in the industry. Her smooth, distinct voice and signature dance moves prove why she is nothing to mess with. Ciara has delivered hit after hit, such as, Goodies, One, Two Step, Oh, Promise, Lose Control, Like a Boy, Ride, Level Up, and Body Party, and now we are ready to add to that list with some of her fire tracks from CiCi.

Before the release of CiCi, Ciara took to social media to let the world know what this project means to her. “To say that this was a labor of love would be an understatement. I first started making this about five years ago, and if you’ve been rocking with me since then, or before then, or even more recently, then you know I’m excited for you to feel the energy”.

Throughout Ciara’s career, she has won many accolades, but one of the best rewards is when she gives back to her fans and shows up for them in a special way, and has them a part of her journey.

On Friday, Day 1 fans lined up outside Legacy for hours to have their chance to meet Ciara, and when the time came, it was a moment like no other. The night started with DJ King SZN, on the ones and twos, and he hyped the crowd up by going down memory lane by playing some of the greatest Hip-Hop and R&B hits from the early 2000s.

When Ciara walked into Legacy, the energy was electrifying. Her contagious smile and warm energy filled the room from top to bottom. We know that Ciara puts her family first, and when her husband Russell Wilson and son Future walked into the space, the love for her was overwhelming. It is so beautiful to see how much they love and support each other. Everyone stepped back for a moment while Russell took pictures and videos of his beautiful wife as she embraced her fans.

During the meet and greet section of the night, Ciara thanked every single person for their support and fans continuously expressed how much they loved her.

Super fan Lee expressed, “Besides meeting Ciara, the best part of the night was getting to know people from the community and making some new connections. The time went by so quickly because we were all just having a great time”.

Now, when you are talking about a day one and lifelong fan of Ciara, you have to mention a young lady named Zeniyah. She has been to numerous concerts across the world to see Ciara, and it was no surprise when we saw her at Legacy. We had the chance to catch up, and this is what she had to say, “Ciara, I am so proud of you. The woman, artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist you have become. Your attitude, pose, and belief in God inspire me to be a better woman and human being. The growth is amazing to see. You know I’ve been a day 1 since the beginning. From seeing you live for the very first time at the age of 13 at the scream fest 07, to meeting you at 16 behind the “106 & Park” building on 10.18.10 to being apart of the Ciara stream promo team during the self titled era, to 21 years later, still being a die hard fan warms my heart. At the CiCi album signing, you signed everything for me. When you signed my portrait of a picture we took back in 2019, you wrote a heartfelt message to me and my heart is full. You put your blood and tears into this album. Cheers to more success and I love you so much.”

We don’t know if Future has a future as a DJ, but on the walk out, Future stopped by DJ King Szn’s booth and learned some skills of his own. With a smile on his face, we watched him and Ciara learn some tips on the board and take in this iconic moment.
